Children Allergy Testing & Treatment
Age is not a barrier for allergy testing, so even infants can benefit. At Allergy & Asthma Specialists, our allergy and asthma doctors and staff have been trained to work with children to make the allergy testing experience as comfortable as possible.
We offer the testing for the following allergies
- Environmental Allergies
- Tree Pollen
- Weed Pollen
- Grass Pollen
- Dust Mites
- Pet Dander
- Mold
- Stinging Insect Allergies
- Food Allergies
- Latex Allergies
- Medication Allergies
After testing, our allergy doctors will discuss the best treatment options for your child. This may be a combination of avoidance, medications, and/or immunotherapy. The age in which shots may be recommended to young children is done on a case-by-case basis.
Research has shown that allergy shots can prevent children who have allergic rhinitis from getting asthma.
