Asthma Testing
Asthma is a chronic lung disease that inflames and narrows the airways in the lungs. In the United States, asthma affects an estimated 26 million people — many of whom aren’t aware that they have it.
At Allergy & Asthma Specialists, we provide asthma testing and treatment throughout the region. Our asthma specialists administer pulmonary (lung) function tests in allergy evaluations to determine if your lung function capacity has been compromised. If you wheeze, have chest tightness or shortness of breath, come see us and we can help.
Why See a Board-Certified Allergist?
Allergists are specifically trained to diagnose and treat patients who have asthma, allergies, and immunologic diseases. No other physician specialty has this level of expertise in treating patients with these conditions.
If you have asthma, the lining of your airway is swollen and inflamed all the time, making your airways more susceptible to irritants. Symptoms may be triggered by exposure to
- an allergen (such as ragweed, pollen, pet hair or dust mites)
- irritants in the air (such as smoke, chemical fumes or strong odors)
- extreme weather conditions.
We’re here to help.
Common Asthma Symptoms
